“Hailing from Shetland, I am proud of my island roots and specialise in performing the lesser-known Shaetlan language folk songs of my homeland. I am passionate in exploring music from composers who have been influenced by folk music and folklore, and often delver recitals centred around this theme. I am currently curating a concert series showcasing Shaetlan translations. More recently I have studied Indian Carnatic classical singing through Royal Birmingham Conservatoire.
With a background in education, I relish delivering musical outreach workshops to schools across the UK. As an avid chorister I also run several community choirs, and I am particularly proud to have established Quoir: Glasgow’s Queer Choir™ in 2019. Now in its seventh year, the ensemble continues to flourish.”
