“I am a Canadian mezzo-soprano based in Manchester whose performances span North America, England, Spain, Italy, and Chile. I enjoy story-telling by merging new and under-performed music with interpretations of older works from the Western classical music canon. I was the co-founder of Voices Unheard, an Ottawa-based music collective that promoted student compositions and lesser-known vocal music through local emerging talent. I completed my Master’s research on Peter Lieberson’s Neruda Songs, analyzing the relationship between the poetry and music.
I was born in Guatemala and grew up in Ottawa ON Canada. Being the child of a diplomat meant my childhood was full of travels. I was fortunate to live in Rome Italy for one year and visit Chile numerous times which sparked my interest in Latin American literature.”
