Partnership with Garsington Opera
We’re joining forces with the Buckinghamshire-based opera company to strengthen the training opportunities we offer to young professionals.
3 September 2025
Garsington Opera will be joining our Serena Fenwick programme as a partner from 2026, bringing more resources, expertise and opportunities for training singers, conductors, directors and stage managers. This will include sessions held at their brand new Garsington Studios as well as unique access to rehearsals, community productions and progression pathways such traineeships and their Alvarez Emerging Artists’ Programme.
Launched 2021 for singers, and then extended to stage managers, directors and conductors, our Serena Fenwick Programme gives targeted professional development to individuals who can demonstrate potential and need and might have been unable to benefit fully from more traditional training routes. From January to July each year, the programme offers tailored strands for singers, stage managers, directors, and conductors. Training includes mentorship, skills development workshops, and networking opportunities, culminating in showcase performances at Garsington and Smith Square Hall.
The multi-year partnership with Garsington Opera will build on the programme’s track record of success, with alumni already heading to roles at leading organisations like the Royal Ballet and Opera, Scottish Opera, Wexford Festival Opera and The Bridge Theatre.
We’re super excited to have Garsington on board and can’t wait to get started.
Applications for the Serena Fenwick programme are now open, along with our summer programmes. Find out more on BYO hub.
